Sub: Parents Reflection for Aditya Banker at Nursery, VKE

Dear Sir & Mam,
Greetings and Prayers.

It was a fantasy story for us when we heard that a 3-year-old can’t sleep without reading a book or a child can miss the school so much that he can fall ill or can recover quickly from illness if attend a school.

Dear Sir, if you can allow us we would like to share our reflection of Aditya to appreciate efforts of homeroom teacher Tasneem Mam and in general for VKE.

We strongly believe in developing a strong character (Charitra) for our kid with the latest knowledge of modern science. This very well aligns with VKE philosophy. Our kid Aditya is 3 years old and is in VKE since he was one year old. Like last year because of Ashwini mam, Minaz Mam, Vinita Mam, and Joshika Mam, this year too was very special for Aditya because of Nikita Mam, Basanti Mam and particularly Tasneem mam.

Of course, Aditya had great fun learning concepts of Me, Myself and My Family, Gardening, Transportation, Solar System, and Celebrations, but all of these concepts are now part of his daily routine.

While at VKE, Aditya has developed few strong characteristics like passion to help others, being sensitive about people/environment around him, confidence in talking with others including strangers, vivid imagination and storytelling, and many others. But most of all we would like to highlight below four.

1. Reading books. Aditya always used to be around books and we knew that he loves books. But one day when we were night staying at friends, Aditya was very tired but could not sleep till 11:30 pm. Usually, he sleeps at about 9 pm. After trying a few attempts we got the idea of reading him the book. Because we did not have access to his regular books, we end up reading some random TV guide or something similar and in a few minutes, he was sleeping in the middle of loud noise. That day we realized, it’s the reading books without which he can’t sleep. It's a miracle in this mobile edge world.

2. Command over multiple languages. Aditya can confidently express himself in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. He also speaks Marathi. He can very swiftly switch between languages within a fraction of seconds. He also wisely chooses the expressing language depending on multiple parameters like where he is eg at home, school or outside, and talking to whom eg with family members, teachers, strangers, helpers, etc. Many times he acts as an interpreter for his grandparents as well.

3. Affection for the school and staff: Aditya simply loves his School. He is never tired of speaking about his Teachers and Didis at home, he is literally missing them. He is always ready to pretend as Tasneem Mam, Pratik Sir, Music Sir, or Fiyaz bhaiya. This is to the extent that if he doesn’t go to school for a few days he might feel a bit low or if he is ill a half day visit to school helps him recover quickly. During sports week, he just didn’t recover quickly but he even managed a couple of Silver medals in running competitions.

4. Sitting focused or still: Many times at home, we don’t hear from Aditya for 10-15 mins. Most of the time it’s because he is focused on this current activity. But sometimes, he just sits still. And upon asking "What are you doing?" he gazing at far says “Hu khali shanti thi betho chu” (I am just sitting peacefully).

Apart from Aditya, I too personal love visiting the school a lot. We have never seen any staff cribbing or complaining even via body language. It always feels so positive and fulfilling to be at VKE. We just see smiling faces. We would also like to thank Dr. Ghosh for all the Parental Workshops which is like guiding compass in the uncharted waters called parenthood.

Aditya spends more awake time at school (including daycare) then with us, hence the majority of the credit, if not all, for Aditya's growth goes to teachers. We believe that he is highly attached to his teachers. I would like to conclude with a small anecdote. Just a few days before the summer vacation, Aditya realized that it will be a vacation for a couple of months and next year he will be in Jr KG. Knowing this, I believe he made a point to Desire Mam or Tasneem Mam that next year Tasneem Mam should come to Jr KG with him. :)

We would like to heartily thank Tasneem mam for all the love, care and kindness she has showered on Aditya.

Thank you,
Father of Aditya Banker,
Nursery Aquamarine.
